Communication Consultant needed in Portland, OR!
Responsible for providing communications consultation, communications planning, implementation and recommended solutions for multiple Kaiser Permanente programs and projects to meet organizational brand and reputation goals. Manage the client-facing aspects of client services coordination by focusing on the clients and their regional communication needs. This may include print publications, web, and other new and social media. Act as a liaison between the Communications department and internal stakeholders, providing communications expertise, managing communications projects and working closely with clients to ensure all deliverables, both print and electronic, meet client needs, business objectives and all regulatory, legal and compliance requirements. Manage the portfolio of publications and other communications materials for various internal stakeholders. Utilize job-tracking database for project records, including assigning accountabilities, deadlines, and project specifications, and file maintenance.Essential Functions- Provide communications consultation & guidance to internal stakeholders helping them articulate, develop, and clarify communication objectives and expected outcomes- Consulting activity will vary from verbal communications or advice on communications issues to providing written customized communications plans- Strategize with client, write creative briefs, research & analyze information, prepare presentations (talking points, FAQs, summaries), plan logistics, and manage overall coordination- Develop and implement short & long-term communications plans and tactics to fulfill the objectives of the region or stakeholder, always conscious of the strategic goals of the Senior Leadership Team- Leverage knowledge from multiple sources including Program Office, marketing, medical operations and other sources- Ensure internal communications activities are consistent with the Kaiser Permanente brand in terms of tone, manner, and messaging- Manage and complete multiple assignments in short time frames and coordinate diverse projects & activities into a cohesive & strategic program for a single client or for a program- Decide appropriate solution for problems that arise during projects and manage projects as assigned- Negotiate scope, budget, and objectives of projects- Advise client of budget responsibility and obtain needed approvals for project & content expenditures- Provide cost & time estimates to clients for each project- Educate clients about the cost effectiveness of electronic communications and encourage the use of new media- Keep up with new trends in communications technology, including new and social media and other web-based platforms- Implement measures to determine effectiveness of communications programs and create plans to improve results- Write and edit straightforward & simple content for KPNW internal communications programs & projects including materials for newsletters, Web sites, tool kits, and other forms of internal communications to support the region####s strategic communications requirements- Perform other duties as assignedQualifications:Basic Qualifications:- Minimum of 2 years experience in an in-house communications department, marketing department or advertising agency- Minimum of 2 years experience in a design firm, production house, in-house corporate communications department or advertising agency as an account executive, marketing executive, writer or creative assistant- Bachelor###s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, business, or equivalent work experience- Experience tracking budgets- Experience with new and social media- Thorough knowledge of publication production- Proven project management skills- Demonstrated knowledge of Macintosh and Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint- Working knowledge of communications tactics and approaches- Working knowledge of web-based communication/new and social media- Working knowledge of computerized database systems- Excellent interpersonal communication and listening skills- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, detail oriented, and decision making skills- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- department, marketing department or advertising agency- Minimum of 4 years experience in a design firm, production house, in-house corporate publications department, or advertising agency working in a Macintosh or PC environment working as a traffic coordinator, project manager, or assistant- Minimum of 2 years experience as a communication consultant (CSC I)- Masters degree in marketing communications, business, or related field- Experience managing budgets- Excellent written and verbal skills- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external constituencies- Thorough knowledge of Macintosh and Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint.- Working knowledge of FileMaker Pro computerized database system (Protrack)- Thorough knowledge of health care insurance industry- Working knowledge of portable document format (PDF) technologies, file transfer, encoding, and compression options- Working knowledge of postal
