The Diabetes Educator will work jointly with the Nursing and Endocrinology Departments to advance evidence based diabetes care through staff and patient education and consultation. The Diabetes Educators practice will be guided by the American Association of Diabetes Educators Scope and Standards of Practice and Standards of Professional Performance. As a key member of the interdisciplinary patient care team, the Diabetes Educator fosters communication and collaboration of team members to ensure quality patient care.
