A regional healthcare provider, Carolinas´ services include Cardiovascular Medicine & Surgery, Orthopedics, Women´s Health/OB, 24-Hour Emergency Department/Trauma Center, Comprehensive Rehabilitation, Cancer Care and Radiation Oncology.Description Plan, organize, direct, and control the facilities management functions of the hospital, including but not limited to planning, design, construction, alteration, operation, maintenance, and disposal of plant facilities and equipment. Establish goals, objectives, standards of performance, develop and implement operating policies and procedures; interpret policies, standards, regulations, and codes to personnel. Responsible for the environment of care for a multi-facility hospital system. Qualifications Education:• Bachelor degree from an accredited school in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering preferred. Experience:• Ten years Engineering director experience in a mid to large hospital.• Sufficient previous progressively responsible experience. • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, local standards and codes, and requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies; standard operating procedures for plant operation; budget development, control and direction; personnel management; work standards for skilled personnel; material and equipment suppliers.• Experience in a multi-facility, complex healthcare organization preferred.

This position will be responsible for plant engineering as well as technical/biomedical engineering. Areas of responsibility include fiscal and personnel management, operations, long range planning, and Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards.Requirements include a strong background in hospital facilities management including management experience at the director level. Firm knowledge of plant engineering and Joint Commission standards are a must. Bachelor´s degree required.
