Dallas, Texas based position provides management oversight and hospital client relations in assigned areas within HCC´s nine state area of operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:-Manages HCC operations in the assigned client hospitals, assisting staff with recruiting, scheduling, and credentialing.- Regularly meets with representatives of assigned client hospitals and HCC hospitalist/staff to ensure efficient and appropriate hospitalist services. Areas requiring coverage include:-- Risk Management-- Case Management-- Physician Training-- Medical Recordkeeping-- Benchmarking-- Efficiency-- Marketing & Sales -- Medical Community Relations--HCC Hospitalist/Staff Relations-- Patient Relations- With support for client hospitals, primarily where HCC physicians will not be returning to client hospitals within reasonable time frames, as established by the Director of Operations.- Assists corporate in staff recruitment, retention and training for assigned client hospitals.- Coordinates and acts as the primary HCC contact for client hospitals.- Identifies and resolves operational problems in hospitals and keeps lines of communication open with staff and corporate office to ensure high productivity.- Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current in the latest health care trends and developments.- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations through both training and policy implementation and compliance.- Maintains confidentiality as both a corporate employee and HIPPA covered entity.SKILLS:Exercises a high degree of initiative, judgment, and discretion. Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with both HCC staff, hospitalists, and client hospital personnel. Achieves financial goals and profit objectives. Exercises judgment and discretion in developing, interpreting, and implementing departmental policies and procedures. Able to creat and participate in sales presentations.KNOWLEDGE:Principles and practices of health care administration, marketing, fiscal management, and government regulations and reimbursements. Medical practice policies and procedures to manage its operations and to ensure effective patient care. The principles and practices of employee development sufficient to manage the department. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Job holder must be able to work in a wide variety of hospital settings, including areas where active patient treatment is underway. Use of standard office equipment required. Some light lifting involved. Job holder must be able to travel within the continental United States using commercial or private aircraft and ground transportation on short notice. Job holder must be able to manage stress commensurate with a management position in healthcare.EDUCATION: MHA, MBA, or BS in Health Administration or Business Administration. Professional development courses in the administration of health care management.EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years healthcare administrative experience. Experience working with a hospitalist or ED practice a plus.
