Candidate will be responsible for directing the administrative activities and providing financial management of the Division of Gastroenterology of the Department of Medicine in accordance with policies and objectives set by the Division Director and the Chairman of the Department; directly supervising and coordinating support staff for administration; scheduling staff, assigning duties and responsibilities, handling personnel matters; serving as liaison with the Human Resources Department; preparing the annual capital and operating budgets for the division; overseeing purchasing decisions; developing new clinical and research programs under the direction of the Division Director; providing administrative support to the Division Administrator; plus all related functions.Bachelors (Masters preferred) degree with three years of administrative and supervisory experience preferably in a health care/research setting with knowledge of financial management functions and of information systems required, excellent communication skills essential.

This position coordinates the Cancer Center´s payroll process. Assists the Payroll Supervisor with payroll duties including reviewing and processing KRONOS biweekly payroll, payroll deductions, new hires, terminations and payroll adjustments. Prepares manual checks as needed. Assists in the preparation of payroll reports, maintaining payroll files, payroll balancing and regulatory reporting. Answers payroll related inquiries as needed. Ensures the confidentiality of payroll information at all times.Education: High school graduate or equivalentTraining/Experience: Personal computer skills and use of calculator required. Four to six years´ minimum experience in processing payroll is required. Knowledge of Lawson is required. Knowledge of KRONOS time and attendance system is a plus.
