Coordinates strategic direction of Purchasing with the Director of Purchasing and Contracts. This position will be focused on delivering a high level of customer service and developing structured processes to support daily operations. Manages local contract negotiations and group purchasing organization agreements. Works closely with Legal in reviewing contract language to minimize risk for WellStar Health System. Conducts vendor negotiation and contracting for supplies, equipment and services. Analyzes product usage and contract compliance and coordinates corrective action with Value Analysis. Coordinates processes between Purchasing and Accounts Payable to insure effective issue resolution and constant communication. Mentors Purchasing staff and develops skill sets to achieve departmental and organizational goals.Required Minimum Education: Bachelor´s of Business or related fieldRequired Minimum Experience: 5 years purchasing with management responsibility preferably in a healthcare setting.Required Minimum Skills: Proven negotiation skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Strong organization skills. Proficient in MS Excel.
