Interface Technical Coordinator

Coordinates interface development, design, testing and training plans for assigned projects. Leads teams and works with project staff and stakeholders to assure that requirements are incorporated within the project design. May develop interface code using HL7 or custom CCL programming if appropriate. Assigns work to team members to assure timely completion of project milestones and deliverables as appropriate. Develops policies and procedures as appropriate. Provides regular status reports to Project Managers. Identifies and escalates issues following departmental guidelines. Assists in staff training and serves as part of go-live support teams including after-hours call as assigned. BA/BS in computer science, business, information technology or healthcare related discipline. Five years of related and progressive experience, preferably in healthcare. Experience with training clinical staff in computer applications. Experience with clinical system integration, HL7 and/or CCL preferred. Demonstrates: Strategic thinking, ability to multi-task, organizational skills, and effective communication.

Responsible for planning, developing and implementing HL7 interfaces in the Health Care environment. Duties would consist of working with users and vendors on interface projects, troubleshooting, and maintenance on new and existing interfaces. Design interface specifications and documentation to support interface installations as well as the daily interface processing. On Call support is required to assist user and interfaces issues which may occur after hours. Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating programs for internal functional areas including finance, human resources, and marketing. Analyzes existing programs or formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding, and tests/debugs programs. Develops conversion and system implementation plans. Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards. Trains users in conversion and implementation EXPERIENCE* 4+ years experience in interface programming in either E-Gate or Cloverleaf.* A plus to have experience with, eGate interface engine, Monk, JCAPS, JAVA, SQL, XML, TCP/IP, Perl, AIX/Unix scripting, AIX operating system programming. MMC is looking for a motivated, organized individual, with experience in supporting Logician, to see us through the next 18 months and help us transition from Logician to the Epic outpatient EMR.

Knowledge of LinkLogic, the DTS, system set up, testing of knowledge updates and Docutrak is required to jump into this role. Training of the Epic system will be provided. In this position, reporting to the Manager of Clinical Systems, you will provide technical support and assist clinicians in day to day use of Logician for our busy multi-specialty clinics. The role includes both the implementation of new software applications, and the support of existing clinical and ancillary software systems. The implementation of new software solutions includes working closely with users to carefully define system requirements and develop appropriate analysis documentation (e.g., a cost-benefit analysis) to support the acquisition or enhancement of software technology. Once the system acquisition has been approved, the CSS will take a lead role in working with the users to finalize the software or design and develop the software for those applications in which a vended application is not appropriate. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Three years experience in programming and system design in a networked computer environment. 2. Extensive knowledge of networked computer systems, including hardware, operating systems, database management, and utility software. 3. Substantial knowledge of network and client operating system software. 4. Demonstrated proficiency in one or more applicable high-level programming languages. 5. Knowledge of software development methodologies including techniques for system analysis, design, documentation, implementation, and testing. 6. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-vendor environment including integration of various software and hardware components, including some that are of advanced or unproven technology. 7. Ability to communicate effectively and express ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.
