The Director of Staff Development plans, develops, directs, teaches and/or coordinates the training, education and orientation of all Hospital staff. Works with Department Directors to identify necessary education for their departments in reaching their education goals to provide quality patient care through modeling, consultation and research. Provides guidance and support to all departments regarding Training Plans, Department Orientation programs and Competencies that are utilized within their department. Works with local schools in coordinating the clinicals for students while in our facility. Ensures compliance with Joint Commission standards in relation to educational and competency requirements. This Director reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.Qualifications Education:• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)Experience:• Must have 5 years previous experience as a Registered Nurse• 2 years experience as an InstructorLicenses/Certificates:• RN License in the State of Florida in good standing• BLS and ACLS required. CPR and ACLS instructor certification with 6 months of employment.

POSITION PURPOSE: In this dynamic leadership role, you will: consult with clients to assess business needs and learning design implications; lead the execution of the learning strategy; and design and deliver the curriculum in alignment with organizational strategies. You will also be accountable for communicating the principles of knowledge management across the organization, leveraging applied learning and coaching techniques, and overseeing the design/implementation of e-learning (technologies and processes) to reach a geographically diverse employee population. The successful candidate must have ability to operate in a diverse environment and have the ability to be flex for different audiences throughout the CHW Medical Foundation organization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *Lead the strategy, development and implementation of learning programs throughout CHW Medical Foundation. *Conduct individual, team, and organization-wide learning and performance needs assessments. *Design programs and initiatives to enhance/leverage organizational capabilities (e.g., leadership training; teambuilding, etc.). *Facilitate leadership and orientation modules. *Conduct train-the-trainer sessions to ensure effective, consistent and successful training delivery. *Coach and serve as an on-site consultant to areas related to leadership development initiatives *Utilize measurement & reporting systems to evaluate the quality, quantity, and appropriateness of the design, and delivery of all programs and initiatives. SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: *Must have proven experience leading training and leadership development projects linked to business objectives. *Proven ability to assess performance gaps, develop training and process strategy, identify learning objectives, design content, implement curriculum and evaluate program effectiveness. *Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills focusing on interaction through story-telling, exercises, discussion groups and role-plays *Ability to operate in a diverse environment and have the ability to be flex for different audiences *Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills *Must have outstanding organizational and time management skills *Ability to influence others and build relationships is critical to the success of this position *Experience leading a culture change initiative in an organization is very important *Ability to effectively handle resistance and conflict, both individually and within a group *Effective at delivering and receiving feedback, both positive and for improvement *Must have the skills to champion organizational learning *Must be comfortable with and effectively utilize technology, from basic to moderately advanced computer skills in Microsoft office products, to learning management system, e-learning and on-line resources Requirements: - MS/MA Degree in Training and Development, Organizational Development, Performance Management or related field. - Minimum 8 years experience in Organizational Development & Training - ASTD, DDI, Situational Leadership, or similar professional development. - Experience in a role with training responsibilities in a multi-site organization. - Specific experience in training, coaching leadership teams or consulting very helpful. - Experience in healthcare helpful but not required.

Summary: Coordinates and conducts training activities to include development of curriculum and delivery of job specific training. Training includes, but is not limited to, New Employee Orientation, mandatory compliance training, in-service programs, skills assessment and computer applications specific to ARC. Works with Staff Development Manager and team members to identify other system-wide training and development needs, develop programs and conduct training. Minimum Qualifications: Requires current RN license, CPR card and at least 5 years clinical experience. Two years of previous training experience preferred. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and employee health a plus. AHA CPR Instructor certification within 12 months of hire required. Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of computer applications (Medical software, EMR, Microsoft Office), primary care processes and procedures and demonstrate sound clinical judgment and skills. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.

Current California RN license required.JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for clinical education and training programs to meet the learning and developmental needs of the clinical staff. Designs, implements, and evaluates strategies to maintain clinical competency of care providers.QUALIFICATIONS: Previous recent experience in in-service education in clinical area required (usually two to five years). Adult learning knowledge required. -Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and group facilitator process skills. -Must possess a thorough knowledge of the California Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, Title 22, QA, BRN regulations.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: BLS instructor preferred.DUTIES: Designs, implements, and evaluates programs that meet learning and competency development needs of clinical staff. Responds quickly to corporate changes in clinical practice and provides training required. Insures compliance and documentation of educational programs based on regulatory agency standards. Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates effectiveness of orientation/training/cross-training programs that are based on an assessment of individual skills and evaluated by clinical competency outcome criteria. Individual collaborates with leadership to improve quality and efficiency throughout the continuum of clinical care. Conducts research into professional and community practice standards, technology, and clinical innovations for improved service within assigned care area. Makes recommendations for cost/quality strategies; works within budget. Communicates and markets educational programs to broad target audience using appropriate methods.
