Job Title: Activity Worker/Driver Work Site: Dogwood Lodge, Vancouver Status: Temporary Full-Time - Indefinite Start Date: As soon as possible Salary: $21.94 per hour Hours: 0900-1700 Reference#: 026412 JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a client/resident and family centred care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Activity Worker works under general supervision and in cooperation with multi-disciplinary team members to carry out established activity programs. Responsibilities include organizing activities, transporting clients/residents to and from excursions, accompanying clients/residents on outings and coordinating portering, demonstrating and teaching activity techniques, and assisting clients/residents with practicing daily living skills. Reports relevant observations of client/resident progress and behaviours to Therapist and/or other healthcare staff, provides direction to volunteers, organizes equipment and supplies for activities, ensures a safe work environment and maintains established inventory of supplies.QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Grade 12, completion of recognized recreational courses plus two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
