Department: EEG Schedule: PRN Job Details: Position Summary: Responsible for the preparation of the patient, the conduct of various standard, complex and special procedures, electroneurodiagnostic studies and the collection of information pertinent to the interpretation of tests. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospitals philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.Required Education/Training: H.S. Graduate. Successful completion of an END Technologists Program of one or more years accredited by AMA Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation preferred. Board registration in EEG (REEGT) required. Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) strongly preferred in addition to above credentials. Required Experience: Two years experience at the Technician level or the equivalent. Current knowledge of basic EEG, evoked-potentials, nerve conduction and EEG and evoked-potential monitoring in inter-operative situations. Must be able to follow detailed instructions on all procedures. Able to establish good rapport with patients, public and the staff. Able to work with severely ill patients. Has sound independent judgement and initiative.
