The Radiographer under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor, performs a variety of technical radiographic, and mammographic procedures; applies prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Responsible for designated areas or procedures, as required. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age specific needs of the adult and geriatric patient and adapt their care to the physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs. Fosters patient and family centered care and radiologic services in accordance with the Lifespan and The Miriam Hospitals mission, vision, values, with consideration of the life span, including all developmental stages as well as cultural patterns.Formal training in a school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent. Must be ARRT Registered Radiographer and current license to work in the State of Rhode Island. Ability to consistently meet the following job accountabilities: critical thinking, interpersonal skills, team membership, customer focus, initiative and reliability.Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.Successful completion of clinical experience required for certification.Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, physicians and staff of all levels and display empathy towards all patients.
