The purpose of this position is to help achieve the vision of Advocate Home Health Services by performing the duties of this position in a cost effective, results oriented and customer focused manner. This position is a critical component of the unit team and as such meeting individual performance expectations and contribution to team performance goals is required. Perform clinical evaluations, diagnosis, and therapy to develop and/or improve the patients communicative functions and abilities. Facilitates the progression of the patient in their home toward optimal levels of self care.Qualificatons:Must have good communication and inter-personal skills.Good documentation skillsMust understand the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e. child groeth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for normal signs of agingMasters Degree in speech pathology from a curriculum accredited by the American Speech and Hearing Association. Prefer one year of experience in home health. Licensed as Speech Therapist in the State of Illinois. Clinical competence certificate issued by the American Speech and Hearing Association.

Provision of information and guidance to patients and families regarding the nature and severity of communication or swallowing disorders, current treatment programs, prognosis for recovery, techniques designed to enhance carryover of desired behaviors and any safety or ethical issues related to patient’s deficits. 5. Our primary site for service is housed within the state-of-the-art Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center located in the heart of the Vanderbilt Medical Center Campus. We have established numerous areas of specialty including but not limited to: Preschool, School-Age, Velo Pharyngeal Insufficiency/Cleft Palate, AAC and Autism Spectrum Disorders. On-site mentorship is available in all areas of speech-language pathology. Individual and group therapy treatment rooms are available, all with connected observation room space. The SLP will evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, cognition, fluency, auditory (re)habilitation and swallowing/oral feeding disorders. Educate and counsel patients and families. Work closely with assigned supervisor to develop competency in basic therapeutic knowledge and skills. Collaborate with clinical practice team to achieve patient outcomes and system objectives. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Assessment and intervention serving children birth to 21 years in most areas addressed under the speech pathology scope of practice (language, articulation, fluency, resonance disorders, augmentative/alternative communication and literacy to name a few). Productivity expectations require no less than 80% of the work week to be scheduled to serve patients.Counseling of families, consultation with physicians, educators and other professionals serving our patients. Documentation of services and contacts within the electronic medical record (based on facility timeline standards). Participation in specialty projects. Graduate Student supervision. Minimum Requirements: Masters degree from a CAA Accredited Program. ASHA CF-SLP eligibility. Minimum of 2 years experience in pediatric service provision. Current TN licensure or eligibility. Self-motivated individual. Great communicator. Good Technical Report writing skills, creativity.Fluency in a second language preferred but not required. Preference will be given to individuals with experience and expertise in feeding treatment and augmentative/alternative communication device use in combination with global speech language needs. Experienced Speech-Language Pathologist

Responsible for evaluating speech/language of children and providing remediation for children with communication disorders. Master´s degree in Speech-Language pathology 2 to 3 years of related experience. Must have licensure´s.

Certificate or eligibility for the Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is required. Required Experience: One to two years of related experience in a physical disabilities setting obtained either in an acute care or rehabilitation facility preferred. Current knowledge and skills in speech language pathology, including ability to work with multi-disciplinary personnel, effective communication skills, flexibility and ability to cope and problem solve.
