Job Title: Regional Leader, Diagnostic Imaging Physics Work Site: Vancouver General Hospital Status: Regular Full-Time - Permanent Reference#: 026670 JOB SUMMARY:Reporting to the Regional Director, Diagnostic Imaging, the Regional Leader is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of Diagnostic Imaging physics staff throughout Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Fraser Health Authority (FHA). The Regional Leader provides guidance, regional leadership and scientific expertise in the medical applications of physics to facilitate high quality and effective delivery of Diagnostic Imaging services needed to support program/service delivery and plans within a multi-site academic, research and client centred environment. He/she is a key organization resource for physics staff, Diagnostic Imaging team members and medical staff in providing clinical treatment, calibrating and commissioning equipment, training medical and diagnostic imaging students and technologists, and conducting research and development on techniques and equipment. In addition to leading a team of highly skilled scientific staff, works as a team player with colleagues and co-workers and in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders in continually developing and improving methods to image body structure and function, to employ radiopharmaceuticals/pharmaceuticals for the diagnosis/treatment of disease and body function, and to achieve excellence in client and family centred care, education and research. QUALIFICATIONS:PhD in Physics, or a related Biomedical discipline, plus a minimum seven (7) years recent, related experience in progressively more senior positions providing leadership and direct supervision within a large unionized health care environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Membership in Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists (COMP) and Fellowship of the Canadian College of Physics in Medicine (CCPM).
