Department: Radiation Medicine - Faculty Practice Schedule: Full - Time Job Details: Position Summary: This position is under the supervision of one or more board certified medical physicists. The person in this position will receive training and provide clinical physics and dosimetry services related to radiation oncology patient treatment. The physicist, as a member of the clinical team, provides support to the Department Chair and the Radiation Physics Division Chief in support of the departmental clinical and academic missions. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospitals philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.Required Education/Training: Post graduate degree in Physics.Required Experience: This position is a three-year minimum commitment (for candidates with no prior medical physics experience). Candidate is encouraged to work toward a doctoral degree in parallel with training. Skilled in math and basic physics. Should also be detail oriented and comfortable working with computers. Ability to work under stressful conditions essential.
