Full time position available. Duties: Incumbent delivers dialysis equipment to bedside. Cleans and sterilizes the dialysis equipment. Responsible for maintaining dialysis equipment and assures that it is in proper operating condition prior to use. Assembles dialyzers, test equipment for leaks, and priming the dialyzers, and makes connections in the dialysis circuit, if required. Responds to any equipment emergency during dialysis (i.e., dialyzer leakages, or clotting, tube leaks), makes appropriate adjustments in equipment, saline solution or heparin. Incumbent functions independently on regular tours of duty, which are not covered by supervisory staff and incumbent must assume the responsibility for providing complete hemodialysis support services. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: For GS-4 (entry level): 6 months of general experience and 6 months of specialized experience; OR 2 years of education above high school level, with courses related to the occupation.For GS-5: 1 year of specialized experience; OR 4 year course of study above high school level leading to a bachelor“s degree with courses related to the occupation.For GS-6: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the complexity level of the duties of the position at the GS-5 level. General Experience: (1) Any type of work that demonstrates the applicant“s ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided familiarity with the subject matter of the processes of the broad subject area of the occupation, i.e., kidney dialysis technician procedures, operation and maintenance of hemodialysis equipment, etc. Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, i.e., kidney dialysis technician procedures, operation and maintenance of hemodialysis equipment, etc. U.S. Citizenship is required.
