Responsibilities include:- Provide instruction to Medical Assistant classes.- Adherence to applicable accreditation commission standards or agencies regulations, the school policies and procedures, and the departments curricula.- Monitor school progress, conduct student orientations and advise students throughout the program.- Assist with on-going review and development of curricula in the department and make suggestions per policy. - Attend orientations, staff meetings, and faculty meetings as scheduled. Requirements:-Must have a minimum of 3 years front and back office Medical Assistant experience. -Qualified individuals will possess experience in billing and insurance, medical terminology, coding ICD-9, CPT, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, EKG, wound care, GYN procedures, documentation, vital signs, and computer skills. JOB SUMMARYThe Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of a Physician or Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording of medical information on patient charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.PATIENT AGE GROUP SERVEDPatients ages 18 +DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(1)Provides care to patients visiting the clinic under the direct supervision of a physician or nurse/clinic manager. (EF)(2)Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients charts. (EF)(3)Reports observations, conditions and problems of patients to the physician or nurse. (EF)(4)Records care administered according to established procedures. (EF)(5)May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis (if so, phlebotomy certification is required).(6)Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Assists with maintaining equipment and supplies. (EF)(7)Follows channels of communication with co-workers for effective problem solving. (EF)(8)Functions as a team player within the clinic. (EF)(9)Demonstrates the components of the ICARE values statement.(10)Follows all safety rules while on the job.
