Physical Therapy Assistant Program DirectorJacksonville, FL Managing the instructors, educational activities of the department, and all classes both day and evening. Adherence to applicable accreditation commission standards or agency regulations and the school policies and procedures. Monitor student progress, conduct student orientations and advise students throughout the program. Coordinate with the Graduate Services Director all information pertaining to the externship placement of students, job earnings, potential candidates and any placement updates. Assist with on-going review and development of curricula in the department and make suggestions per policy. Requirements Masters degree required. One of the following: Physical Therapy Licensure (if a Physical Therapist) or Physical Therapy Licensure, Certification or Registration (if a Physical Therapy Assistant) 5 years clinical experience required. Management experience required. Teaching experience required. Involvement in the academic community beyond physical therapy education required. Experience in educational theory and methodology required. Experience in instructional design and methodology required. Experience in student evaluation and outcomes assessment required.

Provides medically prescribed physical therapy programs in the hospital and in the out-patient clinics.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provides skilled Physical Therapy services according to clinical services standards skillfully. Consistently uses good communication skills when interacting with other people. Demonstrates knowledge of specific age related differences in the application of physical therapy services. Develops effective treatment schedules to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency. Keeps current on clinical developments, state licensure, and regulations affecting provisions of physical therapy. May be required to assist the Physical Therapy Coordinator or Director of Rehab Services in coordinating department activity.QUALIFICATIONSCompletion of a two year specialized A.S. Degree program for Physical Therapist Assistants which has been approved by the American Physical Therapy Association. Licensed or eligible for license in the state of Florida.
