Located in the Medical Office Building on the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center Campus, the East Valley office will be an extension of St. Josephs Medical Group. Initially focusing on Perinatolgoy and Pediatric Cardiology, the office has the potential to add additional service lines in the near future. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter looking to help set-up and grow the practice. Performs ECHO procedures, compiling data for physician interpretation. Performs procedures requiring independent judgement/initiative. Assists with schedules & peer performance evaluations. Assists with evaluation of equipment/procedures. Participates in department QA program and accreditation.Requirements:*Two years ECHO experience*Certified from a AMA program in Cardiac Echo Sonography*Registered by ARDMS in Pediatric Echocardiography, Fetal Echocardiography and Adult Echocardiography.*Ability to perform Echocardiograms with guidelines set by St. Josephs Pediatric and Fetal Echocardiography

DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES:1. Assists in the implementation of the immediate and long term goals of the Echocardiography laboratory.2. Responsible for echocardiography laboratory daily operations that include coordination of schedule and work flow.3. Directly responsible for maintaining the proper functioning of the Echocardiography Laboratorys physical plant and equipment.4. Coordination of sonographer daily activities and facilitating a smooth work flow in accordance with set guidelines.5. Coordination and participation in Telemedicine services.6. Assists the Heart & Vascular Manager in preparing annual appraisals for sonographers and Echo Lab non-technical staff.7. Responsible for resolution of human resources and human relation issues of the Echocardiography laboratory technical and non-technical staff.8. Promotes professionalism in employee-employee and employee-patient relationship.9. Acts as an Echocardiography laboratory liaison to enhance relationship with Medical Center administrative, medical, technical and clerical staff members.10. Facilitates continuous quality improvement process within the Echocardiography laboratory and assists Heart & Vascular Management and Division Director in doing that function on an interdivisional basis.11. Monitors and implements Echo Lab database information entry.12. Responsible for assuring accuracy of in-patient, out-patient, and outreach echo billing.13. Assists the Heart and Vascular Manager in preparation and management of the Echo lab annual operational and capital budget.14. Performs echocardiograms in accordance with set guidelines.15. Facilitates implementation of imaging guidelines set as standard for the Echocardiography laboratory by the Manager and/or Director.16. Facilitates consistency in imaging quality among other sonographers according to the set imaging guidelines.17. Assists the Heart & Vascualr Manager and other authorized physicians in preparation of Echo Lab materials for clinical and educational conferences.18. Participates in educational and research conferences involving echocardiography with the approval of the Heart & Vascualer Manger.19. Supports DeKalb Medical goals and initiatives, as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:1. Must be Registered by ARDMS2. Minimum 5 years experience, strongly preferred.3. Must have the ability to both perform echocardiograms and manage a fast-paced Echo Lab4. Proven ability to work and effectively communicate with physicians, sonographers, and managers and other ancillary hospital staff, required.

The sonographer independently performs transthoracic echocardiograms, acquires images for dobutamine stress echos, exercise stress echos, AV optimization, dyssynchrony studies and assists with transesophageal echos.Applications will be accepted from United States citizens and nationals.
