We are located in Beverly Hills close to the heart of Los Angeles.Summary of Essential Job Duties:The Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for working under the direct supervision of his/her Supervising Physician, the PA shall provide pre-op and post-op assessments, provide and/or assist in follow-up care, and, in the Operating Room:- Ability to first assist on all cases.- Suture skills equal to that of the surgeon.- Knowledge of anatomy of all cases.- Knowledge of latest surgical techniques.- Ability to contribute intelligent input into the surgical procedure:Hospital:- Ability to write orders in Recovery Room, ICU and floor.- Follow patients and write daily progress notes.- Maintain clear communication with the attending surgeon and any consultants regarding patient status both pre and post discharge.The PA practices within the Physician Assistant Scope of Practice, as outlines by the Physician Assistant Committee of the Medical Board of California, as follows:A physician assistant may only provide those medical services which:1. he or she is competent to perform, as determined by the supervising physician.2. are consistent with his/her education, training, and experience, and3. are delegated in writing by the supervising physician responsible for the patients care for by the PA, as further outlines in Title 16 California Code or Regulations.S/he shall incorporate CSHS´s goals and represent an interdisciplinary approach to patient care delivery, while providing individualized care upholding CSHS philosophies and following CSHS policies and procedures. S/he enhances competency through continuing education programs. S/he performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to developmental milestones and health concerns. S/he coordinates care from pre-op through post-op, ensuring all needs are addressed and resolved. Develops educational materials, provides education to patients. Education and Work Experience Preferences: Educational Requirements:Graduate from a PA program approved by Committee on Allied Health Educational and Accreditation.License/Certification/Registration Requirements:Valid California PA license, PA certification issued by National Commission on Certification of PAs, DEA license & ACLS certification.Experience:Prefer a minimum of 3 years experience as a physician assistant.Physical Demands:The physical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions.
