Surgical Technologist Instructor Memphis, TN- Provide instruction to clinical Surgical Technology students.- Adherence to applicable accreditation commission standards or agencies regulations, the school policies and procedures, and the departments curricula.- Monitor student progress, conduct student orientations and advise students throughout the program.- Assist with on-going review and development of curricula in the department and make suggestions per policy.- Attend orientations, staff meetings, and faculty meetings as scheduled. Minimum Qualifications:- CST or CST/CFA awarded by Liaison Counsel on Certification for Surgical Technology (LCC-ST) - Minimum of 3 years clinical experience as Surgical Technologist

Job Description - External:This position assists the surgical team by acting as the primary scrub person who handles the instruments, supplies and equipment during surgical procedures. Maintains constant vigilance for the maintenance of the sterile field.Experience - External:This position requires two years of Surgical Technician experience or equivalency; successful completion of an accredited OR Technician program or equivalency (the accredited program requires one year of school); be certified by the Surgical Technologist Association; possess a current Basic Life Support Certification, Level C, or obtain recertification within one month of employment; and have demonstrated human relations skills.Must have experience with the Divinci Robotic Surgical equipment and urology surgical cases

Summary of Essential Job Duties:Provides ongoing assistance to physicians performing GI Endoscopic Procedures. Must have a thorough understanding of equipment necessary to perform these procedures: sets up/maintains all equipment required for specific procedures; cleans/disinfects endoscopes and accessories manually and in scope washers; troubleshoots as needed. Education and Work Experience Preferences: Educational Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; some background in anatomy & physiology.License/Certification/Registration Requirements:Full command (verbal/written) of the English language.Experience:Previous GI/endoscopy experience. Interventional GI experience preferred.Physical Demands:Limited lifting up to 30 lbs may be required. Standing, walking, sitting required.
