We´re looking for a PA with strong emergency and family practice background.

Rural Health Center in Maine located on island accessible by 20 min ferry ride. Serving year round population of 650 with significant summer increase. Family practice with urgent and emergency care. Rotating schedule- 1 week on call and in office, one week in office and one week off. Small office with receptionist. PAs are responsible for daily running of the clinic in all medical /nursing matters. PA responsible for stabilization and transfer of patients to mainland hospitals with island volunteer ambulance service. Medical supervision from mainland with twice monthly visits from MD to island. Supportive, safe small community with excellent school.We´re looking for a PA with strong emergency and family practice background. A team player with experience in seeing a variety of conditions. This is not suitable, unfortunately, for new or inexperienced clinicians. Ability to work/live in a rural community. ACLS, PALS required. Must be NCCPA certified and able to licensed in Maine.

Physical Therapist Assistants:- Identifies issues in need of disciplinary action.- Determines the point at which the action has been corrected, further discipline must be conducted or if termination is necessary.- Communicates with the Outcome Assurance Injury Coordinator or the Case Manager for each patient.- Participates in clinical instruction of university physical therapy and/or physical therapist assistant students.- Participates in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the rehabilitation quality management process and implements new and improved processes.- Ensures compliance with rules and regulations established by the relevant licensing, certification and accrediting bodies.- Develops a working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and respective State Workers Compensation laws.- Develop or improve occupational medicine services and overall teamwork within the centers.- Meets with the Regional Therapy Director or the designee on a regular basis to discuss quality of patient care, procedures, records, review of new policies and other issues as indicated.- Participates regularly in professional continuing education.DEMONSTRATE JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES- Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills.EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS- BS or Master´s Degree in Physical Therapy.- Current license for state where practicing.JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE- 2 - 4 years clinical experience without occupational health background or one to two years occupational health experience.
