This position involves joining the Outpatient service of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Care Program and reports to both the Coordinator Child and Adolescent Ambulatory Care and to the Professional Practice Leader, Psychology. In this position, the successful candidate collaboratively works within Outpatients, providing assessments and intervention to children and adolescents, as well as their families, with a particular emphasis on Mood and Anxiety Disorders. QualificationsDoctoral degree in PsychologyRegistration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Psychologists of OntarioMinimum of 3 years experience with children and adolescents in a mental health care settingExperienced in psychological assessment and diagnoses of children and adolescentsDemonstrated skills with psychological treatment of children, adolescents, and their families, both individually and in groups Experience in CBT and with mood and anxiety disorders preferredSkilled in crisis assessment, management and intervention Experience in community liaison work Knowledge of community services and resources preferredExperience with program evaluationEvidence of skills in establishing effective interpersonal relationships and conflict resolutionExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPrevious experience working in a hospital setting preferredAbility to be self-directed, autonomous and to adapt to changes and unpredictability Ability to function independently and interdependently with a diversity of health care team membersDemonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basisWe foster a culture of patient and staff safety whereby all employees are guided by LHSCs Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct.As part of the assessment process applicants may be required to complete a written examination or test.
