We currently have opportunities for a full-time and per diem Physical Therapist to join our team. The Physical Therapists will perform thorough evaluation of patients assigned to them, and will establish goals and plan of care to meet the needs of the patients as outlined in the Rehabilitative Services Department’s Policy and Procedures manuals and in accordance with the APTA guidelines. Other job responsibilities include:• Demonstrating a professional and mature attitude with other staff members, patient, families, physicians, nurses, and all hospital staff • Participating in department maintenance and patient care activities • Recommending to the director or supervisor about patient care supplies/equipment and treatment techniques, which should improve the quality and cost of therapy• Assisting in the maintenance of a clean, safe and comfortable environment• Demonstrating cognizant knowledge of JCAHO requirements through attending the yearly annual review provided by the hospital in infection control, disaster plan, proper body mechanics and safety policies and proceduresQualified Candidates must possess:• Bachelor’s Degree of Science or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from a school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association• License or eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in the state of Florida• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification or obtained within 3 months of hire• First Aid Certification or obtained within 3 months of hire• A minimum of 6 months experience in an acute care setting serving a population of adolescents, adults and geriatric cases• The ability to assess anatomical structures of the disabled part of the body and formulate remedial action plans• The ability to keep accurate records of the patient’s treatment, reactions and assessment of progress• The ability to coordinate patient care assignments to ensure the continuity of appropriate level of care, and maximum utilization of clinical/license supportive personnel• The ability to assist as needed in the clinical training of physical therapists and physical therapist assistants from affiliated schoolsPalms West Hospital provides all the benefits you´ll find elsewhere - insurance, vacation, financial programs and educational opportunities.
