The Churchill Regional Health Authority is currently accepting resumes for a Community Wellness Worker with a background in child and youth counseling.
Reporting to the Manager of Mental Health/Community Wellness, the Community Wellness Worker provides assessments, care planning, counseling, mediation, group facilitation, educational presentations. We are presently seeking to provide clients (children, youth and adults) and in-services on relevant topics for Churchill Regional Health Authority employees and the community.QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILIES- Masters degree in social work or psychology (Bachelor degree in social work or psychology may be considered with relevant experience).- Certified counseling training required (children and adolescence)- Minimum of 3 years experience in mental health/counseling required- Other relevant training e.g. conflict resolution, attachment, anger management, mediation, family systems and suicide prevention are definite assets- Experience working in an aboriginal environment an asset- Experience working with Children and Adolescent mental health- Group facilitation and presentation skills required.- Eligible for registration with relevant professional association- Computer skills required- Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry check is required- A valid drivers license requiredHOURS: - Monday to Friday, 7.50 hours per day (flexible) as well as on call as required.The Churchill Regional Health Authority offers employees an excellent opportunity to gain experience and grow in their chosen careers.
