Additionally, Beth Israel Medical Center offers multiple chemical dependency programs outside of MMTP, which include inpatient detoxification, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient programs (including ambulatory detoxification services).Our Mission is to provide the highest quality addiction services to opioid-addicted individuals who seek methadone maintenance treatment. For more information about our MMTP programs, please click the following link:http://www.wehealny.org/services/bi_mmtp/index.htmlThe Position: MMTP Counselors are needed throughout our clinics in Manhattan and Brooklyn to assist in the personal, social and vocational rehabilitation of patients undergoing treated for substance abuse by providing supportive services either directly through individual and/or group counseling or by referral to outside agencies. Responsibilities: Screen new patients, evaluate current social, medical, mental and drug abuse status and their suitability for treatment (when applicable)Orient patients to the program and its policies and procedures & assist them in obtaining needed servicesDevelop individualized treatment plans either quarterly or semi-annually based on chemical dependency, psychosocial, employment & family issuesEstablish a patient record - evaluate patients on a monthly basis and document findingsAssist in the evaluation of each patients adjustment to the methadone and treatment planProvide education and vocation information to patientsParticipate in loitering patrols to determine patient compliance with policiesCollect toxicology specimens as required by state lawsRefer patients to the appropriate agency to ensure adequate care of the patients needsMinimum Requirements:H.S. Diploma/GED2 years paid counseling experienceCASAC (Bachelors degree & appropriate life experience may be considered in lieu of CASAC)
