To provide professional skills in the comprehensive evaluation of patients with speech and language impairments and to provide habilitative & rehabilitative treatment services.
Job Duties:-To be adherent to all IMC P&P, Bylaws strategic plan, rules and regulations-To be adherent for mission, vision, goals and practice guidelines in IMC-To actively participate in all IMC committees and force tasks that he/she is assigned to-To be adherent to the JCI standards of care-To be able to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other departments of the IMC, CCF, other local agencies, vendors, patients, their families and other interested parties-Completes hospital and departmental structure standards, including attendance-Participates in continuous quality improvement/program evaluation activities and observe measures to ensure Hospital, JCO, MOH, MRQP, and ARAMCO quality standards and regulations are metDepartmental Duties:-Adheres to the Departmental Scope of Service, IPPs and Strategic Plan-Actively participates in all departmental activities and duties-Attends/represents Speech Therapy at rounds, clinics and case conferences-Assists in training support personnel-Participates in in-services, continuing education, department meetings and program development-Assists in equipment upkeep-Participates in orientation of ward staff and new employees-Presents and/or teaches at workshops, in-services or case presentations-Adheres to internal controls established for the department-Supports a coordinated relationship with CCFClinical Duties:-Works in consultation with all physicians-To assess and treat swallowing, aphasia, dysarthia, aprazia, articulation disorders and language fluency in Pediatric and Adult populations or either. To also develop tests to assess patients-Establishes effective specialist/patient relationships by using appropriate interpersonal communication skills to provide quality health care-Consults with the physicians regarding patient evaluation and treatment programs-Participates in goal setting and discharge planning-Administers routine and complex tests on speech and language impaired patients, including patients with high-level acuity of care-Diagnoses and evaluates speech and language competencies, including assessment of communication skills as related to medical, educational, social and psychological factorsPosition QualificationEducation: - Approved training program in speech therapy- Completion of all requirements of the Saudi Council of Health care professionals and complete the requires number of hours of continuing medical education to maintain an active licensureExperience:-Four years post certification preferable-Preferably one year in an acute hospital or out-patient settingSkills: -Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required-Must demonstrate good clinical skills and be willing to work in a team environment-Must desire to work with a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation adult and pediatric population-Has the required skills in the clinical therapeutic interventions-Knowledge of machine/equipment operation, maintenance and repairs-Ability to work independently, to work cooperatively in a teamwork situation, and to work harmoniously in general with co-workers-Must have flexibility in work hours
