We are currently seeking a per diem Cardiovascular Ultrasound Tech II who under general supervision, will provide clinically proficient and professional patient care, and operate and troubleshoot all complex technical instrumentation involved in Cath Lab operations. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:• Assisting in performance of cardiac catheterization and other related procedures, (right heart, cardiac biopsy, pericardial centesis, coronary and peripheral interventions, brachial cutdowns, electrophysiology, etc.)• Assisting in inventory control, quality assurance/improvement efforts, patient follow-up and data collection programs• Overseeing Q. A. activities of all technical equipment (i.e. - hemochron, co-oximeter, hemodynamic computers, etc.)Qualified candidates must possess:• Graduate degree of an invasive cardiovascular or cardiopulmonary technology program or passage of (NSCT/NSPT) certification exam or a minimum of two years• Basic Life Support Certification• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification• On the job experience necessary to effectively utilize knowledge of unit and policies and procedures, and to fulfill quantity and quality standards for the job• Ability to act as resource for other staff members in knowledge of and performance of advanced clinical skills specific to area of practice• Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, hospital staff and the public• Ability to use teaching skills necessary in order to support patients and other staff learning and information needs• Analytical skills necessary in order to prepare Cath Lab reports and to provide support and suggestions during procedures to ensure safety and completeness• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to eighty percent of work time when planning and performing Cath Lab procedures and dealing with patients and their families, often during difficult situations• Knowledge of radiologic aspects of cardiac catheterization necessary to ensure safety of patients and staff and to maintain optimal visualization and quality of radiologic record• Knowledge of normal physiology of the heart• Ability recognizes hemodynamic and anatomic abnormalities and appreciates their significanceThese are exceptional opportunities in an incredible location!
