Minimum Requirements: Requires completion of Paramedic program, active Paramedic license, and two years of Paramedic experience required. BLS, ACLS, PTLS or IHTLS strongly preferred. Additional Information: This is a PRN position between the hours of 7a-7p. As an integral part of our accredited Chest Pain and Stroke Center and the only Level 1 Trauma Center in Middle Tennessee, the Adult Emergency Department serves the emergency medical needs of local and regional patients. The newly expanded and renovated Adult ED includes 16 critical care beds, 4 trauma bays, 4 fast track rooms, 4 swing beds, 7 holding beds, a 9-bed Chest pain and Stroke Center, 2 team triage beds and, an 8 room psychiatric transition unit. The department also has 2 CT scanners, a decontamination room, and a family grief support room. Diagnoses include but are not limited to MVA, cardiac arrhythmias, gunshot and stabbing victims, renal crisis, GI bleeds. Vanderbilt is a smoke-free workplace in compliance with the Non-Smoker Protection Act, Tennessee Code Annotated 39-17-1801-1810. In accordance with that law and Vanderbilt policy, smoking is prohibited in all enclosed areas on Vanderbilt property.
