DEPARTMENT: Occupational Medicine SCHEDULE: Full time regular, 40 hrs/week, Day shift, 8:00am to 5:00pm EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Education/License/Certification:: Graduate of an accredited physical therapy curriculum with a Bachelors or Masters degree with certification in Physical Therapy or foreign-trained equivalent. Licensed to practice physical therapy by the State of California. Must have a Nat´l Provider Identifier (NPI, or obtain an NPI, prior to employment start date. JOB SUMMARY: Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates physical therapy/rehabilitation services in a variety of settings to ensure that local, regional and inter-regional goals are met. Coordinates all professional aspects of the service with Medical Liaison and/or Administration. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum five years experience in a clinical physical therapy setting required. Minimum two years supervisory experience required. Experience in program development, staffing, including disciplinary action and termination, and budgeting required. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in a related field above preferred. Advanced Certification desired. Master or doctorate in PT; prior oversight of a hospital-based or free-standing P.T. program; strong business acumen; proficient in use of Windows sutie (PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Advanced clinical certification also desired. DUTIES: Directs physical therapy/rehabilitation services and programs to deliver high quality, cost effective care to achieve service excellence. Develops programs to meet current and future needs. Reviews service performance, effects changes as needed to improve services and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Develops goals and objectives, establishes and implements policies and procedures for operations. Hires, trains and manages clinical and non-clinical personnel. Develops standards of behavioral performance and clinical competencies. Evaluates personnel based on established standards and competencies. Creates, analyzes, and maintains reports and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes. Develops and recommends service operating and capital budgets, and ensures that the services operate within the allocated funds. Has authority for budgetary expenditures. Develops physical therapy/rehabilitation services to meet member needs. Identifies and responds to member needs. Manages resources to meet customer needs. Develops and implements performance improvement programs. Monitors and assesses program and reports to Quality Management. Establishes and maintains communications with multiple departments locally and regionally. Develops relationships with academic programs, the community, and other groups. Provides direct patient care services as needed. Ensures ongoing professional development for self, clinical staff, support staff, and student affiliates. Demonstrates behavior consistent with the criteria for professional practice. DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES: Responsible for the management of Inpt. & Outpt. Rehab (including PT, OT, ST), Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Acupuncture program. Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis.
