POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Scott and Laura Eller Congenital Heart Center of the Heart and Lung Institute at St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona has an opportunity for a pediatric cardiac sonographer to work with a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The sonographers will be joining a Pediatric and Fetal Non-Invasive Laboratory. All images are digitally archived. There is great opportunity to experience imaging a broad spectrum of congenital and acquired heart defects, from simple to complex. The Laboratory performs all aspects of ultrasound imaging transthoracic, transesophageal, fetal, intracardiac, and stress. Ample opportunity for participation in echocardiography research and education is available. Performs ECHO procedures, compiling data for physician interpretation. Performs procedures requiring independent judgement/initiative. Assists with schedules & peer performance evaluations. Assists with evaluation of equipment/procedures. Participates in department QA program and accreditation. - Certified from a AMA program in Cardiac Echo Sonography Two years ECHO experience - Registered with ARDMS and one other subspecialty such as Vascular Ultrasound - Registered Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonographer (RDCS)or RCVT in PedsPerforms pediatric echocardiograms. Advises cardiologists of results of examination and provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation.

The Ultrasound Technologist will perform a wide variety of diagnostic medical sonography procedures on patient for the aid in diagnosis and treatment of patients illnesses and/or injuries.Qualifications: Possess high degree of technical knowledge to perform more specialized U/S studies with minimal amount of assistance from Radiologist. Able to make diagnostic judgments when scanning and present them to the Radiologist for their interpretation. RDMS Registry certified. This position is responsible for rotating shifts between Primary Children´s Medical Center and Primary Children´s Riverton Outpatient Services.Minimum Qualifications-Satisfactory completion of a formal ultrasound training program in an AMA approved school.-American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certified or registry eligible and certified within six months of hire in the specialty of Abdominal imaging is required.-Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in this work area.-Must utilize problem solving, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.-Must have the ability to work independently and without supervision.-Must have a positive attitude along with an engaging service oriented disposition.Preferred Qualifications-One year post ARDMS certification preferred. Pediatric imaging experience preferred.-Experience performing all ultrasound examinations including, but not exclusive of, Abdominal, Pelvic, Neurosonology, Small Parts, Visceral Doppler, and Peripheral Vascular studies preferred.

Job Description - External:Performs a variety of ultrasound examinations, including localization for minor surgical procedures (biopsies, aspirations, etc.) utilizing various types of equipment in order to locate, evaluate and record pertinent anatomical and pathological data for the diagnosis of disease. Works closely with radiologist and referring physician.Qualifications required: high school diploma; graduate of an approved Ultrasound school, or two (2) years of on the job training at an accredited hospital; ARDMS registered in Abdominal Ultrasound Specialty; and current CPR certification.Experience - External:EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS- Prefer one year ultrasound experienceCERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED- CPR- RDMS SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED- Computer literate, good verbal and organizational skills
