This position may possibly have an opportunity to float to the South Sandy Clinic, located at 955 East 11400 South, in Sandy, Utah. This is a unique opportunity to assist a great staff! The ophthalmic technician is responsible for performing preliminary examinations and evaluations of patients with ocular complaints, diseases or disorders by initiating and executing technical tests utilized exclusively in ophthalmology. In this position the ophthalmic technician provides information to and consults with ophthalmologists who facilitate the diagnosis and eventual treatment of patients. Minimum Requirements Must have current certification in Ophthalmology (Certification by JCAHPO-Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology), or at least one year of experience working as an Ophthalmology Technician, or have successfully completed a certified Ophthalmology program. Must professionally, effectively & efficiently respond to patient´s needs. Must be self motivated, safety minded, and detail oriented. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification for the Health Care Provider. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in an ophthalmology clinic preferred. Strongly prefer previous refraction experience.
