Surgical Tech First Assist / seasonal (3 month assignment) The hours are Monday through Friday from 5:30 AM until 2:00 PM, plus call.

The CST/FA or CST/CFA functions as a surgical first assistant to the surgeon during the operation so does under the direction and supervision of that surgeon and in accordance with hospital policy and appropriate laws and regulations. The first assist does not concurrently function as a scrub nurse. Experience: Education Required: Graduate of Surgical Technology Program; Completion of formal program or Certification as first assistExperience Required: 3 years of diversified preoperative experience; BLS Certification; The successful candidate will have experience in harvesting vein endoscopically using the Terumo system. The candidate must also have experience assisting at the chest during open heart procedures.
