Occupational Therapy Assist Program DirectorJacksonville, FLManaging the instructors, educational activities of the department, and all classes both day and evening. Adherence to applicable accreditation commission standards or agency regulations and the school policies and procedures. Monitor student progress, conduct student orientations, and advise students throughout the program. Coordinate with the Career Services Director on all information pertaining to the externship placement of students, job earnings, potential candidates, and any placement updates. Assist with on-going review and development of curricula in the department and make suggestions per policy. Minimum Qualifications:Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) and current state license or certificate. Masters degree required plus a minimum 5 years clinical experience in Occupational Therapy. 1 year experience as an educator for an approved Accredited Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) campus. Previous program director with start up experience preferred. Previous management experience required. Must be capable of teaching both the clinical and didactic aspects of the program.

Job Description The Occupational Therapist Assistant provides occupational therapy treatment and patient care according to hospital, state, professional and federal regulations and guidelines. In addition, the position: * Requires effective communication skills for working with patients, families, and caregivers. * Requires effective communication skills for departmental and interdepartmental relationships. * Requires competency in occupational treatment. * Performs occupational therapy treatment tasks as delegated by and supervised by occupational therapists. * Maintains open and on-going communication with hospital departments to ensure patient, staff, and hospital needs are met. The Occupational Therapist Assistant creates an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by providing patient safety and patient-centered treatment. POSITION REQUIREMENTS License or Certification: * Must have current state license or certification; in states where licensing is not required, defer to state practice act. * CPR certification preferred unless otherwise required by hospital policy.Education, Training and Experience * Successfully completed a Associates degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program Physical Requirements: * Visual acuity and ability to communicate sufficiently to conduct safe patient care duties * Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds, which includes participating in patient mobility activities.
