Plans for and implements changes within the department based upon dynamic changes in customer demands. Plans and manages the departmental operating and capital budget in cooperation with the Director of Operations. Direct supervision of departments operation, work of staff, training and human resources. Demonstrates leadership, team-building and employee development skills. Provides direction, support, coaching and mentoring for employees. Organizes and oversees daily operations and activities, and timekeeping functions for assigned areas. Responsible for interviewing and hiring of employee candidates, performs evaluation, competency evaluations as required, corrective action, problem solving and dismissal of staff. Performs other tasks as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Education: Bachelors degree required.Experience: Three to five years of clinical laboratory experience, (preferably working with physician office labs) and supervisor experience preferred.Licensure, certification, and/or registration: CLS or MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent required.Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required. Responsible for all Phlebotomy, Same Day Testing Lab Operations in the Charlotte Markets. Must have clean driving record. Minimum Qualifications Required:Education - Bachelors Degree required.Experience - Previous Supervisory experience required. Physician Office experience preferred.Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration - CLS, or M.T. Certification required. The Director is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality testing services, within the CLC budget and strategic plan, to all CLC customers. The incumbent is responsible for the establishment of a service delivery model which maximizes resource utilization and insures viability. Direct the day-to-day laboratory operations for all technical departments of the core laboratory. Provide oversight to all Quality Assurance, compliance and regulatory aspects of laboratory operations for Carilion Labs. Travel to other Carilion Labs sites to provide direction, as necessary, in the areas of technical operations. Assist the Director of Product Development in the implementation of new product lines into the core laboratory.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Education: Bachelors degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field, required. Advance degrees preferred.Experience: 10 years of related experience required. Five to ten years of Supervisory/management experience preferred. Previous experience with daily operations in a high volume, multi-site, computerized laboratory is preferred.Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Must be certified as a Medical Technologist (MT(ASCP)/ Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS(NCA). Possess a valid Drivers License.Other Minimum Qualifications: Customer-focused, excellent interpersonal, organizational, leadership and communication skills. Enthusiastic problem solving abilities, and positive attitude consistently on display.
