POSITION SUMMARY: Performance of diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound studies and provides written technical impression to assist cardiologist with interpretation thereof. TESTING:• Perform required procedure (2-D, M-mode echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, Dobutamine echocardiograms, and peripheral vascular studies) as ordered, and review patient’s chart if necessary. • While in stress echo room, responsible for tasking Kinetics reports, checking fax log on Kinetics system, processing imaging lab billing and medical records. • Document on fee ticket study performed and applicable diagnosis. • Conforms to all company and departmental policies and procedures. • Coordinate same day add-on procedures. ENVIRONMENT:• Maintain clean work area. • Stock forms and linens as needed. • Maintain appropriate equipment preventative maintenance. • Report all equipment failures to Team Leader.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: • High School Diploma or GED • Medical Sonographer or Ultrasound program graduate • RDCS, RVT, RCS, or RVS required.• Dual Certification preferred, but not required.EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: • Two years of cardiac ultrasound experience in performing 2D, stress, and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms• One (1) year experience in carotid or peripheral imaging, duplex scanning preferred. • Ability to work independently including critical thinking, judgment and decision making skills.• Must have basic computer skills, including data entry. • Good organizational and time management skills.WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: DAILY:• Sit.• Twisting back, shoulder and waist. • Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.• Reach or stretch.• Speak.• Have distance vision.• Exposure to loud noise levels.
