The Central Reprocessing Supervisor position is a full-time/first shift (7am 3:30pm w/flex to variable hours) will perform a variety of responsibilities to assist with the daily operations of the reprocessing department with the goal of delivering high quality patient care. Specific duties will include: :Orientation, training and monitoring employees in the decontamination process to include the disassembly, sorting and cleaning of instrumentation and equipment, Supervises the packaging, sterilization and distribution procedures for patient care products.Functions as an educator/resource person for staff utilizing expertise of surgical instrumentation and case carts. Ability to perform at all work station and assist staff. Qualifications:Knowledge gained through successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technician school program. Prefer a minimum of three years direct surgical technician experience in the surgical suite or Associates degree in Business or Nursing with comparable level of education and experience. Three or more years of management experience and/or Reprocessing supervisory/leadership background preferred. Prior experience working in a preceptor role.Minimum of 3 years of SPD experience which include extensive knowledge of medical/surgical supplies and sterilization principles and practices.Completion of a National Central Service Technician examination or completion within one (1) year of employment required.Ability to assist in developing and maintaining revenue and expense budget accounts. The EMT Specialist will work directly under the direction and supervision of the RN and/or MD assisting in triage, phlebotomy, IV access. In addition delegated patient care functions may be assigned. Participates in Performance improvement. Participates in unit meetings and in services. Applies knowledge of patient education, patients referrals and ethical and legal implications as necessary under the direction of the unit RN. Able to care for patients of all ages infants, children, adolescents and adults. Complies with standard of confidentiality., Patients’ Bill of Rights, and the EMTALA Law. Follows corporate Responsibility policies and completes modules as required. Knowledge in EEG/EMG/Interoperative monitoring and/or Sleep Studies preferred. Five + years of clinical experience in acute care setting of similar size and scope. Three years of management/supervisory experience in Respiratory Care. Able to work off-shift hours consistently each month (approx. six shifts/month.) Ability to address administrative and/or clinical issues through demonstrated use of independent judgment.
