Borgess - Lee Memorial Hospital is seeking candidates for Emergency Medical Technicians. There are 2 part-time positions and 1 full time position all working hours of 11:00am to 11:00pm.

This position organizes, prioritizes, coordinates and administers individualized, professional patient care to patients within the hospital’s Emergency Department in support of medical care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Provides quality care as directed by the medical staff and in accordance with objectives, policies and procedures of the hospital and the Michigan practice act. The EMT Specialist will work directly under the direction and supervision of the RN and/or MD assisting in triage, phlebotomy, IV access. Glucose monitor testing, assist with sterile procedures, unit secretary duties and documentation activities encompassing the entire patient population from newborns to elderly. In addition delegated patient care functions may be assigned. Participates in Performance improvement. Participates in unit meetings and in services. Applies knowledge of patient education, patients referrals and ethical and legal implications as necessary under the direction of the unit RN. Able to care for patients of all ages infants, children, adolescents and adults. Complies with standard of confidentiality., Patients’ Bill of Rights, and the EMTALA Law. Follows corporate Responsibility policies and completes modules as required. Current appropriate licensure(certification) in the State of Michigan (EMT-S), Current BCLS certification, Current ACLS provider certification or must obtain within one year of hire, Current PALS certification or must obtain with one year of hire. Preferred BLS Instructor certification, ACLS Instructor certification, PALS Instructor certification, Experience in a hospital (ED)
