Serves as a Medical Technologist (Generalist) who performs a full range of emergency and non-routine tests in the areas of chemistry, toxicology, urinalysis, heratology, bacteriology, and blood bank, Duties in the blood bank include when necessary, performing specialized tests. The Medical Technologist prepares, thaws, and makes available for patient transfusion units of blood and blood components. When necessary, the incumbent will perform diagnostic Tests to determine the presence of infected agents, i.e. Hepatitis, HIV, etc.. The Medical Technologist calibrates, standardizes, adjusts, and maintains instruments, and verifies correct instrument operations using established procedures and quality control checks. Identifies the cause of common problems and makes minor repairs. Conducts quality control procedures on equipments and reagents and takes corrective actions, when necessary. Maintains records and files as necessary and notifies proper authorities all Panic values results in a timely manner. NOTE: CANDIDATES MUST BE U.S. CITIZENS.
