POSITION REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Performs full range of basic respiratory care, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric, with accurate and complete documentation, including documentation or verification of completion on the Patient/Family Education Form. Documentation to be reviewed by supervisor.2. Performs EKG with 100% compliance on yearly check-off by supervisor.3. Performs ABG with 100% compliance on yearly check-off by supervisor.4. Performs oxygen rounds and documents patient assessment accurately and completely (appropriate documentation will be determined by random review performed by supervisor).5. Responds to all emergency calls quickly as evidenced by Peer Review Form.6. Consults with and/or advises physicians, nurses, or other therapists in the management of patients evidenced by the Peer Review Form.7. Assists in training and orientation of new employees, students, PRNs, etc.8. Assists with maintenance and cleaning of equipment, as well as ordering and stocking of supplies as evidenced by Peer Review Form.9. Maintains ABG lab and logs. Documents completely on all problems and troubleshooting measures taken. Meditech documentation of records. Documentation to be reviewed by supervisor.10. Assists with daily scheduling and staffing assignments, and starting new therapy in a timely manner as evidenced by Peer Review Form.11. Attends and participates in departmental meetings and in-services.12. Remains flexible and available for rotating shifts during staffing shortages.13. Maintains accurate charges in Meditech.14. Assesses critical care patients and monitors mechanical ventilation and documents the same.15. Initiates infant ventilation, monitors equipment during infant ventilation, and documents accurately and completely all patient data.16. Initiates IABP, monitors equipment, and completes accurate documentation of patient data.17. Initiates BiPap ventilation, monitors equipment, and completes accurate documentation of patient data.18. Inserts and maintains arterial line.19. Performs stress testing as needed. Completes accurate documentation and processing of tests.20. Keeps work environment safe and in compliance with infection control standards.21. Maintains required provider status.22. Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS1. Graduate of school for Respiratory Care2. Minimum of three (3) years experience in all facets of acute and chronic respiratory services including Arterial Blood Gas, Pulmonary Testing, and Electrocardiography LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION1. RCP2. BLS Healthcare Provider Card3. RRT within one year of hire
