This is a temporary full-time position for the Spring 2010 semester. Continued employment pending student enrollment and department needs.Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Masters degree in Nutrition and a Bachelors degree in Athletic Training or related area. Candidates must have at least eighteen (18) graduate hours in Nutrition. Candidates must be Registered Dietitians with nutrition counseling experience in the area of wellness and also have the NATABOC certification. Candidates must be eligible for Florida Licensure in both Nutrition and Athletic Training. Experience in teaching college level nutrition courses including face-to-face and online delivery methods is desirable. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will prepare and teach assigned nutrition classes on more than one campus. The faculty will hold required office hours and attend department and college meetings as requested. The faculty will also assist the head athletic trainer with providing athletic training coverage for selected sports and maintaining comprehensive records of athletic injuries and treatments. In addition, this person will formulate effective therapeutic treatment and rehabilitation plans, make referrals to and interact regularly with team physicians, faculty, coaches and administrative staff. He or she must also provide clinical instruction and supervision for athletic training students. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The successful candidate must have a knowledge of the area and discipline to be taught; the ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with students, colleagues and supervisors; and the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and professionally through oral and written communications. In addition, the candidate must have familiarity with technology applicable to the teaching discipline, especially learning management systems for online instruction.Rank: Appointment level to any faculty position is dependent upon qualifications and experience.Salary: Competitive salary depending on experience.
