We are currently seeking a Food and Nutrition Support Staff for the Education division of ARAMARK. This position will be based in Philadelphia, PA. This will be a temporary role (12-18 months) but is a full time position (working between 30-40 hours a week) offering full time benefits. Some of the responsibilities will include inputing and maintaining the database information files on ingredients and recipes to support the ongoing maintenance and updates to the division´s inventory, recipe, menu, nutrient analysis and food production planning software program (PRIMA). Data Entry (80%)•Entering new recipes in approved format into master PRIMA database •Editing recipes in master PRIMA database•Defining and validating ingredient specifications and updating in PRIMA•Identifying appropriate HACCP procedures and updating in PRIMA•Calculating meal component contributions and updating information in PRIMA•Verifying nutrition analysis and updating information in PRIMACulinary Testing (20%)•Research, plan, organize, participate in and document the entire culinary process as it relates to recipe testing and standardization. •Recipe writing and testing to include proper costing, yield testing and achievement of nutritional analysis guidelines•Conduct time motion studiesReports to the Director of Menu Development. Works on projects in conjunction with AE Service Line Expertise group. Interfaces with, and establishes a strong rapport with the Culinary Development team. This position requires a high degree of maturity and attention to detail.Qualifications Qualifications • A Culinary or Nutrition degree preferred.•Culinary, recipe development or relevant food service experience preferred.•Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.•Able to accurately and efficiently utilize a food production computer system.•Research & development experience a plus•Able to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions and weight to volume conversions•Able to give progress reports and alert others if there are deadline concernsPersonal Traits•Has perseverance and the ability to drive projects to a successful conclusion.•Has strong analytical skills with a great attention to detail•Thrives on functioning independently with a minimum of supervision, and also in a team environment.•Has good judgment and is able to solve problems independently when dealing with ambiguity.
