The LCSW Social Worker supports the Behavioral Health Clinic. Provides comprehensive social work services including psychotherapy, assessment and treatment to Veterans as well as education on mental health issues to family members. Responsibilities include the use of individual and group therapy to patients in order to promote optimal functioning and independence. Responsibilities also include outreach to organizations regarding assessment and treatment of mental health disorders to include Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), personality disorders, and serious mental illness. The Social Worker assesses patients from current and future psychosocial needs, support, healthcare needs, patient and family functioning, and treatment palns using casework, group work, family counseling, or community organizations. Makes appropriate community referrals and follow up to determine outcome of the referrals. Docuements social work activities in the medical record according to professional standards.Applications will be accepted from United States citizens. No prior Federal service is necessary. Temporary position not to exceed 2 years Full-Time. Applicants must have a master´s degree in social work (MSW) from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and be licensed as a MSW to independently practice social work psychotherapy in a state. This position also requries a current state drivers license. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 8:00am to 6:30pm with weekends for outreach as needed.
