Major Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following: in concert with supervising physician Manages and assists CVTS patients, both inpatient and outpatient Provides perioperative and postoperative education, counseling and assessment Possesses computer skills with emphasis on electronic medical record charting Performs diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to allow the surgeons to extend their services Assists in gathering the patient data necessary in implementing the therapeutic plan of the surgeon Acts as a patient advocate in the medical care system, serving as confidant, advisor and liaison between patients and physicians and other staff members Performs and records H&Ps Surgical first assisting Participation in rounds, schedule rotation and on-call responsibilities Management of IABPs, ventilators, temporary pacemakers, and biventricular support devices Saphenous vein and radial artery harvesting, including EVH Insertion of Swan-Ganz lines, chest tubes, CVP lines The successful candidate will also have a strong desire to work with cardiothoracic and vascular patients and their families.
