As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a difference working with the GMC Adult Critical Care patient population.In partnership, this experienced Physician Assistant, under physician responsibility and supervision, Performs diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to allow the physicians to extend their knowledge in the sphere of decision-making required to establish a diagnosis and to plan the appropriate therapy. Assists in gathering the data necessary to implement the therapeutic plan of the physician. Using the latest endovascular, computer-guided, endoscopic, stereotactic and percutaneous techniques, the team is dedicated to providing excellent service to their adult and pediatric patients. Responsibilities include diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to allow the nurse practitioner to extend their knowledge in the sphere of decision making required to establish a diagnosis and to plan the appropriate therapy. Works collaboratively with the neurologists to provide care to new or established patients. Major roles include provision of acute episodic care for all practice patients, continuity care and advocacy for patients, serving as a liaison between physicians and patients. These roles, undertaken in cooperation with nursing, staff physicians and other department staff, may include triage, telephone communication and patient education. Reports clinically to the designated primary collaborating physician(s).
