Position Summary: Performs a variety of technical and patient care related activities to assist the department. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospitals philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.Required Education/Training: Completion of a Nursing Assistant, Clinical Technician training program or LPN Program strongly preferred. Successful completion of a comprehensive Unit-based competency program. IV insertion/ Phlebotomy training. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS). Unit certification required to assist with endoscopic procedures independently.Required Experience: One year of patient care experience in an acute care setting is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to function within guidelines and follow established protocols; must be able to set priorities and work under stressful conditions. Above average manual dexterity required to operate medical equipment used in endoscopic procedures.

Department: N/S - Operating Room Schedule: Full - Time Job Details: Position Summary: The incumbent in this position is responsible for intraoperative delivery of patient care in the scrub role; assists Core Leader, OR with orientation, training and supply inventory for a specific surgical specialty consistent with specialty alignment. Collaborates with the Core Leader, OR in providing orientation to the scrub role for new staff regarding instrumentation, equipment, supplies, operative procedures and surgeon preference for an assigned surgical specialty. Required Education/Training: High School graduate or the equivalent (GED). Completion of accredited program in Surgical Technology. Current Certification by examination through Association of Surgical Technologists is preferred. Required Experience: One to two years O.R. experience as Surgical Technologist in an acute care operating room, which included the major surgical specialties i.e. General, GYN, Urology, Neuro, Ortho, ENT, CV, Plastic, with one year OR scrub experience preferred.
