Gundersen Lutheran Health System, based in La Crosse, Wis., serves more than 500,000 residents of western Wisconsin, southeastern Minnesota and northeastern Iowa. Specialty outreach, telemedicine, distance learning, digital imaging and other services link Gundersen Lutheran with regional clinics, hospital affiliates and referring providers in a 19-county area. Gundersen Lutheran is currently seeking an on-call Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to work with rehab and acute care patients. Schedule includes every 2nd or 3rd weekend/weekdays as needed/1 holiday per year. COTA will treat individuals with disabilities, injuries and disease using appropriate modalities and treatment techniques according to Wisconsin OT Standards of Practice. The COTA will provide elements of evaluation under the supervision of an OTR, and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in the areas of education and consultation regarding patient care needs. Qualified candidates will have: Associate degree for Occupational Therapist Assistant or equiv.; ability to adapt to changing work needs; strong communication skills; ability to work cooperatively with team; ability to provide effective customer service to internal/external consumers.Preferred candidates will have: Experience in related field; basic computer skills.
