We treat children, adolescents, adults and senior adults for emotional problems, mental illness, and behavioral health issues. The Social Services Clinician will complete social histories, perform discharge and aftercare planning, act as primary counselor and case manager, perform group, conjoint and family counseling and education, coordinate and participate in treatment planning and staffing conferences, foster and maintain liaison with community referral sources, attend a minimum of two continuing education programs each year, and participate in ongoing quality assurance peer review. The Social Services Clinician will participate as a member of the treatment team, exchanging information and evaluations with the physician and other professional disciplines in order to insure comprehensive treatment program for patients. Essential information regarding the patients social situation and social service activity shall be recorded in the patients record to aid the treatment team and other disciplines in understanding the patient and developing an appropriate plan of treatment. The Social Services Clinician will participate within the hospital and in identifying and developing programs which would benefit patients in realization of their rehabilitation goals. Qualifications Required Job Qualifications include:Masters degree in a relevant clinical behavioral sciences field (social work, counseling, psychology, etc.) from an accredited university.Current Missouri licensure or eligible for licensure. Must be actively pursuing licensure and supervision upon hire or within 90 days of hire.Minimum of 2 years experience working in a mental health setting preferred.Group therapy leadership skills and knowledge of community resources/services required.Ability/Experience relevant to working in short-term treatment and with managed care preferred.Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.

(Age of Patient Population Served: Adult to Geriatric).Implements discharge planning processes.Effectively interviews patient and family members, and other support system personnel, to access the bio-psycho-social status of the patient scheduled for discharge. Formulates a discharge plan in a timely manner that matches patient with services best able to meet the patients needs. Provides ongoing assessment during hospitalization to ensure appropriate referrals based on status at the time of discharge.Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate the recommendations of the treatment team to the patient, the patients family, caregivers and other support systems.Effectively assesses the psycho-educational needs of the patient, family, caregivers and support systems.Demonstrates the ability to increase the awareness of existing community resources to the patient, family, and caregivers.Effectively performs in a leadership role as a treatment team member in the treatment team process.Provides appropriate treatment based on the psychosocial assessments and the recommendations of the treatment team. Performs individual and family counseling, provides psycho-educational resources and facilitates group counseling.Consistently conducts a psychosocial assessment within 72 hours of admission.Counsels patients and their families regarding psychosocial needs or problems related to their mental heath treatments. This includes concerns regarding housing, insurance, medications compliance and financial issues.Provides psycho-educational materials and resources to the patients, families, and other caregivers.Demonstrates the ability to effectively advocate for the patient.Provides family and individual therapy based on recognized therapeutic techniques. Gives and receives constructive feedback appropriately.Embraces the concept that as professionals in the complex and ever changing field of mental health treatment Behavioral social workers must be active life-long learners. Accepts the added responsibilities of being a master/licensed level professional in terms of educational demands. Demonstrates advance practice in assessment and clinical skills and ability to plan and facilitate therapy groups.Qualifications:Masters in Social Work with LCSW licensure required.Two years of social work experience required.
