Job Summary: Performs all night sleep studies on patients with sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy or parasomnias for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. Has worked in sleep laboratories for at least six (6) months and is capable in running nighttime polysomnograms, CPAP/BIPAP titrations and Multiple Sleep Latency Tests. Demonstrates the ability to hook up and record artefact free tracings as well as score their sleep study from digital sleep systems. Participation in the Quality Improvement process is expected. Essential Functions: Manages stress appropriately and can make decisions under pressure, manage anger/fear/hostility/violence of others appropriately, handle multiple priorities and able to work alone. Medium work with periods of standing, lifting, stooping, bending, pulling with force, reaching above head and shoulders, twisting at waist. Must be able to distinguish colors, hear alarms/telephone/tape recorder in normal speaking voice. Good manual dexterity and clarity of vision. Occasionally may push/pull/lift or carry up to 50 lbs. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma and some college preferred or vocational/technical training in Polysomnographic Technology.Experience: At least six (6) months in Polysomnographic TechnologySkills: Organizational, critical thinking and communication skills in a detail-oriented, multi-tasks, customer- focused organization. Computer skill including Meditech, mathematical, analytical, reading and comprehension skills a must. Must follow verbal instructions. Must be able to run digital sleep equipment. BLS required.
