JOB PURPOSE:Evaluate and assesses, establishes functional, patient-oriented goals/outcomes that promote the restoration of functional abilities. Develops and implements a written treatment plan to meet goals, plans for discharge and communicates findings and progress according to professional licenser/certification, scope of practice and departmental/discipline policies and procedures. May supervise clinical students and support staff including certified/licensed assistants and volunteers. The position is under general direction of the department director.B. ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS:1. Education: Completion of an accredited A.P.T.A., Physical Therapy Assistant program.2. Experience: Previous experience in an acute care out patient setting is preferred.3. Training: Thorough knowledge of Physical Therapy theory, practice, appropriate technology and practice standards for area of responsibility. 4. Licensure: N.Y.S. Physical Therapy Assistant License.
