Location: Flexibility to travel to other locations is needed.PURPOSE: Provide clinical leadership and expertise in mammography to improve patient care in a manner that promotes a positive working relationship with Technologists, Radiologists, Supervisors and the Management Team. Report to the Mammography Manager Assist the Mammography Manager with compliance of MQSA and state regulations, ACR Accreditation, clinical policies and procedures, and staff training and development. Perform mammography during staff shortages. (Not to exceed 20% of time) Position requires travel throughout the MAS region to provide onsite support as needed at facilities performing mammography services. In addition, Regional leaders are accountable for communication, implementation, enforcement, monitoring and oversight of compliance policies and practices in their departments. In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors and principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives. Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers, contracted providers and vendors. ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Assists in developing and implementing a regional compliance program for quality assurance2. Works in conjunction with mammography quality manager and facility leadership to monitor and assess the quality standards on a routine basis- Monitors technologist productivity and quality standards- Addresses service issues and member complaints- Monitors QC book for compliance with regulations3. Coordinates and conducts mammography staff training throughout the region to ensure compliance with Kaiser Policies, as well as local, state and federal regulations.- Trains and monitors temporary technologist staff for quality and compliance with Kaiser Policies.- Plans and conducts orientation program for all new mammography staff to facilitate their assimilation and skill development.4. Reviews procedures, techniques, quality of work, safety procedures, and other factors recommending or instituting changes supported by written plans as appropriate. Implements new procedures and assist staff as necessary to ensure a complete understanding and a smooth transition from former practices.5. Maintains current personnel documents required for compliance with the Health Plan, local, federal and state requirements.6. Maintains a high level of clinical skill and all requirements to retain certification and license.7. Reviews staffing needs for Mammography on a regular basis. Assists in the projection of future needs, taking into consideration productivity, utilization, operating costs, and budgetary data as requested.8. Assists in interviewing and selection process for new hires in the mammography department.9. Monitors key radiology performance indicators, identifies trends and issues, coordinates and supports improvement programs.10. Makes routine site visits to mammography facilities for onsite inspection of quality assurance program and to provide assistance to technical staffing11. Perform other related duties as requested. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Three years of experience as a Certified Radiological Technologist, ARRT required- Strong knowledge of mammography quality control procedures with at least one year of experience performing mammography quality control procedures required.- Strong knowledge of MQSA regulations required.- Familiarity with ACR Mammography Accreditation Program requirements required.- Effective oral and written communications skills required- Basic computer skills in word, excel and power point required- Quality Management certification preferred- Previous supervisory experience in a health care setting preferred.- Three years of experience in mammography performing quality control procedures required.- Three years of experience in Radiology field required. Education and/or Classes:- Associate Degree in Radiology, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. License, Certification and/or Designation:- US-ARRTM Certification required.- VA or MD State License required.
